PERMITTING

Black & Veatch has been successfully permitting projects throughout the US for over 35 years. Our regulatory specialists are familiar with the most current regulations affecting project permitting requirements and can assist you in developing and implementing an effective permitting strategy. Their successful working relationships with regulatory agency personnel throughout the country can improve agency response time and facilitate the permit review process. General permitting services include the following:

  • Permitting Assessments
  • Licensing Strategy Development and Implementation
  • Environmental Impact Assessments
  • Site Certification Applications
  • Individual Permit Applications
  • Agency Consultation and Support
  • Public Hearing Support
  • Permit Renewals and Updates

Permits typically obtained for power generation and industrial projects include those for air, wastewater and storm water discharges (NPDES), wetlands, landfills, water withdrawal, and state water quality certification. Other approvals include those required by the Coastal Zone Management Act and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. Black & Veatch maintains experienced in-house environmental attorneys, paralegals, and permitting engineers who develop and implement our permitting processes. We also maintain an environmental law library with Internet access to federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines.
