A large global energy company recognised the need to accelerate the development of its ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) charging networks to meet demand from the rapidly growing number of EV owners. The company was looking for an engineer, procure, construct (EPC) partner able to manage the feasibility, engineering and installation of EV charging stations across a portfolio of existing retail sites throughout the UK, Germany, Netherlands, Spain and other countries in Europe.
Drawing uponexperienced engineering and construction professionals from across the globe, Black & Veatch provided project management and EPC services for the delivery EV charging stations at more than 1,000 locations across four European countries.
Black & Veatch has been engaged for more than nine years with private companies, service providers, parking owners and utility organisations deploying EV charging infrastructure projects with scope ranging from assessment, engineering, construction and commissioning. This enabled the creation of a team able to draw upon a wealth of EV charging programme experience, particularly with managing multiple subcontractors, permitting efforts, utility coordination, engineering and construction/safety management. They are also familiar with a wide range of DC and AC charging configurations.
