Architecture and Engineering Services Help U.S. Army Protect Homeland, Soldiers and Allies from Cyber Threats
The United States Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) represents an elite team of soldiers and civilians dedicated to operating and defending Army networks against adversaries and strengthening the combat power of U.S. forces around the world. The Army’s elite cyber team will have a new, Black & Veatch-designed headquarters in Fort Gordon, Georgia, that will serve as “a hub of technology and innovation.”
Two-for-One Design
A key design challenge was the ability to construct the headquarters without interfering with ongoing missions. This required completing two, separate designs—one for the new building and one for the existing facility. Each design had to stand on its own and be constructed independent of the other.Despite the high complexity of this project, Black & Veatch delivered its designs on time and on budget. Other notable design attributes included:
Meeting LEED Silver obligations.
All applicable Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection requirements.
Collaborative, next-generation workspaces.
A 324,000 square-foot command and control space.
A 10,000 square-foot data center space.
“Black & Veatch’s management has been exceptional. This is a highly complex project with a demanding customer, aggressive schedule and a tight budget, and Black & Veatch has exceeded all requirements.”
Thomas Brockbank, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District
