The goal of the Village of Key Biscayne (VKB) Resilient Infrastructure & Adaptation Program (RIAP) is to create a stronger, more resilient and sustainable community for decades to come. This is achieved by mitigating future environmental risks and infrastructure-related vulnerabilities.

Black & Veatch partnered with VKB to provide A-E Consulting services for comprehensive resilience, coastal engineering, and coastal storm risk management. The team coordinated with federal and state agencies such as USACE. These agencies have authorities that can provide matching funds or grants to help fund the infrastructure improvements and nature-based solutions.

Local experts provided civil works infrastructure and complex water resource engineering and emergency response. This program is one example of how BV is committed to serving U.S. government missions at every stage, from preliminary studies and planning to complete program management. Program management and delivery experience will be used to ensure successful implementation of these vital infrastructure projects.

Tangible Benefits
