Growing water demand and issues associated with operating and maintaining existing assets created a need for the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) to maximise its managerial functions.
Black & Veatch was engaged to perform a study of operation and maintenance in partnership with the overseas consultancy arm of Thames Water and TCE Consulting Engineers. The project aimed to enhance water supply services with increased efficiency, reduced costs and improved customer service within India’s commercial capital.
Elements of the 18-month study included water treatment, water transmission and distribution and master planning.
Through its association with the project, Black & Veatch has helped improve management and delivery of sustained water supply services in a city that houses around 13 million people.
