Project: IOCL Ennore

First Regasification Terminal on India's East Coast

Operational since 2019 with a send-out capacity of five million metric tonnes per annum, IOCL’s Ennore terminal is paving the way for the supply of LNG to spur industrial growth across southern Indian states including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

Black & Veatch in consortium led the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) work on a turnkey basis. The project encompassed the creation of LNG import, storage, regasification and road tanker loading infrastructure. This required expertise in both LNG handling and regasification systems, as well as designing and building the 27-megawatt captive combined heat and power plant required for the regasification process. for the LNG import, storage and regasification terminal.

Project: Swan LNG

India's First Floating Storage and Regasification Terminal

We are advancing the development of India’s natural gas market through what will be the country’s first floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU). Harboured in Jaffrabad, Gujarat on India’s west coast, the soon to be complete facility will import initially 5 MMTPA of LNG.

Black & Veatch is delivering the EPC contract for the LNG jetty topside and onshore facilities for Swan LNG.

Project: Reliance Industries DTA TGTU

Improving Sulphur Processing and Reducing Emissions

Reliance Industries' DTA (Domestic-Tax Area) Refinery at Jamnagar is the world’s largest refinery complex and produces a range of petroleum products for export as well as supply in the Indian market, including sulphur as a feedstock for fertilizer and pharmaceuticals.

Existing sulphur recovery units were operating with an overall average efficiency of 98.5% and greater. Through process design, detailed engineering and the supply of a new Tail Gas Treatment Unit (TGTU) across three existing sulphur recovery units, Black & Veatch helped achieve a minimum 99.9% recovery efficiency, reducing emissions from the existing incinerator and increasing the product yield.

Remote Monitoring of Chemical Facilities

Large industrial manufacturing companies often struggle to capitalize on the abundance of process data at their facilities, resulting in unsafe conditions, unexpected downtimes, uneven process quality and planning inefficiencies.

Advanced pattern recognition and machine-based learning software deployed across multiple processing facilities, matched with dedicated teams of experienced engineers and operations experts based in India and throughout the world, is helping a confidential global chemical manufacturer remotely monitor, analyse, diagnosis and resolve and prevent plant issues.

Project: 15 MW Solar PV Plant

India's First Solar Park

Black & Veatch was appointed by developer AES Solar as the Owner’s Engineer for a 15 megawatt solar PV plant located at Charanka Village in Gujarat, India. The plant is part of the country's first multi-developer, multi-technology solar park, bringing clean energy to the region. Spread across 5,000 acres, the solar park includes 500 MW of solar and wind energy generation capacity.

Project: Golar LNG’s Hilli Episeyo

World's First Floating LNG Conversion

Moored and in commercial operation off the coast of Cameroon, the Hilli Episeyo is the world’s first FLNG vessel developed as a conversion project from an LNG carrier. Built in Singapore and supported by global resources from India and the United States, Black & Veatch completed the FEED and topside detail engineering, procurement of LNG, BOG handling, and gas treating plant equipment, construction engineering, and commissioning consulting for the project.
