Mr. Channon is client focused, resourceful, and result-oriented management consulting professional with over 25 years of experience in the energy sector.
Mr. Channon has successfully completed various due diligence and engineering engagements related to development, transaction and refinancing of various energy and water projects/companies globally (United States, Canada, Middle East, Asia, Australia and Europe), including over 20 gigawatts (GW) of United States and international electric generation assets (solar, wind, coal, natural gas, oil, etc.), and over 2,750,000 m3/d (725 million US gallons per day) of greenfield desalination projects.
Mr. Channon currently serves as a project manager with a focus on Technical Advisory projects for lenders and investors that include renewable energy, fossil and desalination projects located in the United States as well as internationally. He has successfully advised many international well-established companies (such as BayernLB, Capital Dynamics, Energy Capital Partners, Gulf International Bank, KeyBank, PNC, Rabobank, Royal Bank of Scotland, Santander, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, US Bank, Wells Fargo, WestLB) on various merger and acquisition (M&A) and financing activities involving well over U.S. $20 billion of transaction value in aggregate.
In addition, since Mr. Channon graduated from college in 1993, he has gained over fifteen years of experience involving design, development, engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of power plants. He has developed extensive experience working on power stations of various configurations, which include simple cycle, combined cycle, coal-fired, oil-fired and waste-to-energy projects.
Throughout his career, Mr. Channon has been involved in a multitude of roles and activities leading to areas of expertise which include proposal development, client relationship management, project management, contract review/negotiation, vendor/subcontractor management, independent engineering due diligence, detailed design, engineering studies, project mechanical lead, consulting and engineering for balance-of-plant design, startup, construction, planning, cost estimates, budgeting, cost control, procurement, critical path method (CPM) scheduling, and production costing (financial) modeling.
