Mr. Clark has extensive knowledge in utility IT and AMI Meter Data Management (MDM) systems. He has worked with various utilities as a functional and technical architect and driven teams to results. He has a strong understanding of metering and performance analytics.
Steve has led diverse teams consisting of vendors, business and technical staff. He has also led PUC and community facing projects and while reporting costs, status and issues to internal client staff as well PUC representatives. He was a key member that presented and testified about its findings in an AMI settlements study to the PUC of Texas.
As a solution architect he has developed systems and processes to capture asset information, operational and metering data. Analytic efforts include results linking advanced metering data with plant accounting. This work required him to work with business, technical, database, and field operational staff. In his last role he had to work with and lead teams from four different operation companies. These companies utilized different AMI, SCADA, Capacitor and Relay software as well as other operational hardware and software. He was able to work with these teams to gather requirements and develop new processes to help move toward convergence. His advanced SQL skills from working with several database platforms have made him a valued resource in being able to provide guidance and designs for data warehousing, reporting, GIS/mapping, and data mining activities.
Earlier in Mr. Clark’s career he worked extensively in the deregulated energy information technology (IT) market. He designed, developed, repaired or tested most of the major rate schedules utilized in the data aggregation and settlements engines for the initial Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) market. His knowledge and experience also allowed him to work with the Midwest Independent Transmission Systems Operator (MISO) market as a valued member of the readiness advisory team to determine if MISO was ready to go live for market open. His experience includes working as a subject matter expert with the market participants in various deregulated markets. In working with market participants, he has been able to help the participants interface with the market operators and help them resolve any issues. He has also worked extensively with the training materials for the new ERCOT market both as an instructor and subject matter expert.
Mr. Clark has demonstrated deep skills in application design and development, systems testing, implementation, production support, and training. His understanding of the energy industry combined with his excellent communication and leadership skills, his ability to solve problems, and strong work ethic make him an invaluable team asset.
